NGVAmerica Appoints Paul Sandsted as Director of Technology & Sustainability
Washington, DC – Natural Gas Vehicles for America (NGVAmerica) today announced that Mr. Paul Sandsted has been appointed Director of Technology & Sustainability, effective immediately.
Sandsted comes to NGVAmerica from Cummins, Inc., where he has served as an Application Engineer since 2005, providing technical support to OEM customers across a variety of powertrains in generator-drive, automotive, industrial, and military applications. He is a 2002 graduate of Clemson University where he majored in computer engineering and minored in mathematical sciences.
“Paul’s vast experience in the on-road heavy-duty engine market is a key find for NGVAmerica and its close to 200 member companies,” said NGVAmerica President Dan Gage. “For almost fifteen years, Paul has worked with a variety of OEM customers to develop powertrain systems that work for specific applications in challenging environments. He has served as facilitator for countless customers beginning with the design process through build to delivery and real world on-road use, troubleshooting hurdles and finding sustainable solutions along the way. His expertise, experience and passion for clean transportation will serve the natural gas vehicle industry well.”
In this new position, Sandsted will lead NGVAmerica programs related to industry sustainability, technology development, research priorities, safety and best practices, and codes and standards for natural gas vehicles and fueling infrastructure. This includes broad collaboration with NGVA members, academia, governments, standards and research organizations, and other key stakeholders to foster cooperative approaches to complex industry issues.
Sandsted begins work at NGVAmerica today after a rigorous recruitment and interview process involving NGVA member company representatives and Technology Committee leaders.
