Substantial NGV Industry Presence at APTA EXPO 2014
Approximately 75 members and NGV advocates from 34 companies participated in NGVAmerica’s 7,000 sq. ft. NGV Zone at the APTA (American Public Transportation Association) EXPO this week at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. This exposition, which takes place once every three years, was held in conjunction with APTA’s annual meeting and is recognized as the largest public transportation show in the world. Although not audited yet, show organizers state that over 15,000 registrants— comprised of exhibitors, public and private transit personnel, policy makers, and board members—walked the exposition floor.
NGVAmerica’s Zone offered a diverse mix of NGV equipment and services from the following companies: A-1 Alternative Fuel Systems; AFV Natural Gas Fueling Systems (SSP); Agility Fuel Systems; ANGI Energy Systems; Atlas Copco Compressors LLC; BASF; Bauer Compressors, Inc.; Ce-Pres, LLC; Clean Energy Fuels Corp.; CNG Cylinders International; Fuel Solutions, Inc.; CNG Equipment Solutions; Fuel Solutions Inc.; Hexagon Lincoln; Hunt, Guillot & Associates; Jones & Frank; J-W Energy Company; Kraus Global, Inc.; Luxfer Gas Cylinders; Micro Design; Mobile Fueling Solutions; NGV Solutions; Pearce Sales Agency – Aspro Compression Systems; PSB Industries; Tulsa Gas Technologies Inc.; WEH Technologies Inc.; Worthington Cylinders; Xebec Adsorption Inc.; and xperion Energy & Environment.
IMPCO Automotive, Leggett & Platt Commercial Vehicles Products, Parkway NGV, and Westport Innovations exhibited a total of four dedicated CNG passenger and cargo vans and one Ford E-450 cutaway chassis. NGVAmerica also welcomed the Greater Houston NGV Alliance participation. Outside the Zone, four 40’ CNG transit buses were featured on the floor by manufacturers: El Dorado National, Gillig, Nova Bus, and Motor Coach Industries in addition to one Ford E-450 cutaway chassis upfit by Green Alternative Systems displayed in the Stertil Koni space.
