REPUBLIC SERVICES DEPLOYS 79 CNG TRUCKS IN INDIANAPOLIS
On Monday, Republic Services announced the deployment of 79 CNG solid waste and recycling trucks throughout greater Indianapolis. The new natural gas trucks will replace older diesel trucks. Republic Services constructed two new time-fill stations in Indianapolis to support the new fleet, which is set to expand in the coming year. “In the next year 70 percent of our local fleet will be powered by compressed natural gas,” said Travis Simpson, area president of Republic Services. Republic Services serves more than 205,000 residential and roughly 12,000 commercial and industrial customers throughout central Indiana. The Company provides service to several municipalities in the area, including the cities of Carmel, Indianapolis, Lawrence and Noblesville, as well as the towns of Atlanta, Cicero, Sheridan, Speedway and Whiteland.
