NGVAmerica Elects New Officers at Annual Meeting & Industry Summit in San Diego
WM’s Marty Tufte Elevated to NGVA Chair
Washington, DC – At its recent Annual Meeting and Board of Directors Meeting in San Diego, CA, NGVAmerica elected new officers to oversee the organization’s operation through 2024:

- Vice Chair: Puneet Jhawar, General Manager – Global Spark Ignited Business,
Cummins Inc. - Treasurer: Michael Zimmerman, General Manager, Cummins Clean Fuel
Technologies - Past Chair: Mitchell Pratt, Chief Technology Development Officer of Clean Energy
and Chief Executive Officer of Rimere
NGVAmerica’s Daniel Gage and Jeffrey Clarke remain as President and Secretary respectively. Gage serves as NGVAmerica’s chief executive and Clarke as Vice President of Regulatory and Government Affairs and General Counsel.
In addition, Ashley Remillard, Senior Vice President of Legal and Government Affairs at Hexagon, was elected to an at-large position on NGVAmerica’s Executive Committee, joining Charlie Ker, Senior Director, Business Development for Westport Fuel Systems, and Jennifer Stokes, Key Account Manager for CenterPoint Energy, as at-large members.
NGVAmerica’s new Chair, Marty Tufte, is a Corporate Fleet Director for Waste Management, located in Phoenix, Arizona. Mr. Tufte has served for over 38 years in progressively responsible positions within the company and presently oversees the Equipment Performance programs at the enterprise level. Waste Management, Inc. is the leading provider of comprehensive waste management and environmental services in North America.
Mr. Tufte and his team have pioneered Waste Management’s use of alternative fuel vehicles and oversee all new technology programs. These include Natural Gas, RNG, Battery Electric, Hydrogen, Hybrids and telematics programs to name a few. Mr. Tufte has a te chnical degree from Austin Technical College and has a strong technical and fabrication background.
Mr. Tufte takes over from Mitchell Pratt, a former NGVAmerica Chair (2017-2019) who stepped back into the role in March of this year to fill an unexpected vacancy. Mr. Pratt has served on the executive team at Clean Energy for the past 22 years, currently as its Chief Technology Development Officer, where he advances the corporation’s technical innovation and strategy. Prior to this, he led business initiatives and oversaw production across all divisions as Clean Energy’s Chief Operating Officer and Corporate Secretary. Mr. Pratt also serves as Chief Executive Officer of Rimere, a plasma technology company focused on decarbonizing the natural gas infrastructure and transforming it into a clean global energy solution. He has a degree in Engineering as well as an MBA.
In addition to electing a new slate of officers, NGVAmerica reappointed one-half of its Board of Directors to new two-year terms to the board.
