Texas Natural Gas Vehicle Alliance Honors Sun Metro Transit with Lone Star NGV Award
EL PASO – Texas Natural Gas Vehicle Alliance (TXNGVA), in partnership with Applied LNG and Texas Gas Services, honored the City of El Paso’s Sun Metro with the Lone Star NGV Award at the February 5th City Council meeting.
Anelisse Chanakos, Applied LNG, notes “We commend the commitment and use of natural gas in the Sun Metro fleet. It was truly an honor to recommend Sun Metro for the Lone Star NGV Award.”
Susan Shifflett, Texas NGV Alliance, states, “With close to 200 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles, Sun Metro was an easy choice for this award.”
Started in 2017, the Lone Star NGV Awards recognizes leaders across the State of Texas for their contribution, dedication, and commitment to the natural gas transportation market.
Shifflett continues, “Natural Gas Vehicles are proven and available today. By using natural gas, fleets like Sun Metro are doing their share to clean up our air by reducing harmful emissions. Additionally, using this domestic fuel source, we are fueling our Texas economy which benefits our Community, our Schools, and our First Responders.”
Chanakos concludes, “The City of El Paso and Sun Metro are truly a leader in natural gas transportation, and we are proud to call them our Partner.”
