NEW JERSEY CNG STATION GETS APPROVED
• March 10, 2014
On Wednesday, the Middletown, New Jersey Planning Board unanimously approved a new CNG station for the township. The station is a joint project between the township and New Jersey Natural (the local gas utility) under a state Board of Public Utilities program to increase the use of alternative-fuel vehicles. Other natural gas stations are proposed in Freehold Township and Toms River. The Middletown station would be built on Department of Public Works property at NJ Natural’s expense. A public gas station would front the street, and there would be facilities in the rear to time-fill township vehicles parked overnight at the DPW garage.
