Final Plan Summary
The Final Beneficiary Mitigation Plan was issued on June 8, 2018. Arizona did not publish a proposed draft plan as most other states have done but it did hold information sessions and informally took comments from the public.
The Final Plan allocates funding as follows:
On-Road State Vehicles 24% ($12.5M for Class 8 freight trucks, $1M for Class 4 - 7 local Freight Trucks)
School Buses 67% ($37.9M for school bus replacement)
Administrative 9%
Funding Opportunity
Arizona plans to provide $38 million to fund the purchase and replacement of up to 281 school buses. The deadline for applications is Sept 28, 2018. Scrapped buses must be at least 15 years old and have over 100,000 miles. Eighty percent or more is targeted to areas that are in non-attainment. Funding for new buses is up to $110,000.00 for clean diesel buses, and up to $135,000.00 for an alternative fueled buses.
