Refuse and Recycling Fleet in Southern Oregon Expands CNG Fleet
Rogue Disposal & Recycling of southern Oregon recently introduced a new CNG refuse truck to its fleet. The truck is the second CNG truck in Rogue Disposal’s fleet; the other CNG truck debuted in 2012. The new truck, which is being used for automated residential routes in Medford, makes about 1,000 stops a day for pickups. The 2013 Peterbilt 320 features a Cummins ISL-G engine coupled to an Allison RDS-P 6-speed transmission.
“Rogue Disposal and Recycling’s overall goal is to be the leading environmental company in Southern Oregon, and the CNG truck allows our company to convert to a cleaner burning fuel which will improve the air quality of the Rogue Valley while lowering our fuel expenses for collection,” said Wendel Smith, Rogue Disposal & Recycling General Manager.
Shadow Properties and Rogue Disposal have announced the planned construction of a new CNG fueling station in Jackson County to fuel its growing CNG refuse fleet. Dry Creek Landfill, in conjunction with Jackson County, also has completed a feasibility study to determine the economics of using biomethane as a fuel in local fleets.
