Trillium CNG to Construct Station for RNG Project in California
On Monday, Trillium CNG announced it has signed a letter of agreement with the Monterey Regional Waste Management District in California to build, own and operate a new CNG refueling station to power the district’s CNG refuse trucks. The station will be built at the Monterey Regional Environmental Park located in Marina, California. By mid-2016, the District will produce methane from the Monterey Peninsula Landfill and a nearby sanitary facility, and will convert the recovered natural gas into CNG to power their fleet. “It’s really sort of a perfect closed loop resulting in negative carbon impact,” said Tim Flanagan, the district’s assistant general manager. The new CNG station will feature time-fill posts to handle the district’s 50 CNG refuse trucks as well as a fast-fill dispenser that can be made available to other local City and County fleets. The station will also be expandable to accommodate up to 100 CNG vehicles as their fleet is fully converted. Groundbreaking is scheduled in April with completion targeted for the end of July.
