Clean Energy Earns Grant to Construct CNG Station in Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania Sen. Jake Corman (R-34) announced a $642,894 grant has been awarded to Clean Energy toward the construction of a CNG fueling station in College Township, Centre County. The CNG station will be located off of Route 26 and will be accessible to the public in addition to providing fuel for Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority vehicles. Currently, the closest CNG station is more than 30 miles away. “The natural gas resources available in the Marcellus Shale combined with advances in vehicle technology means that environmentally friendly CNG vehicles are becoming more affordable,” said Sen. Corman. “A local CNG fueling station will be established to allow local governments and employers to take advantage of that local resource.” The grant was awarded as part of the Alternative and Clean Energy Program administered by the Commonwealth Financing Agency.
