Omnitek Earns EPA Cert. for Detroit Diesel Series 60 Natural Gas Engine
On Thursday, Omnitek Engineering Corp. announced it has received a Certificate of Conformity from U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for diesel-to-natural gas engine conversions of the Detroit Diesel Series 60 engine families for model years 1988 to 2009. The Certificate of Conformity, which allows engine conversions to proceed in 49 States, covers the 11.1L, 12.7L and 14.0L DD60S engine models. An assembly line engine remanufacturing/conversion process will ensure that engines are in “as new” condition. Engines will be dyno-tested and “drop-in” ready for quick installation. The company is currently working to finalize the development of the Caterpillar C15 and Cummins ISX engine conversion systems.
