CLEAN ENERGY RECEIVES $1.1 MILLION IN FUNDING FOR PA L/CNG STATION

On Thursday, a $1.1+ million grant was announced that will be used to construct a public access L/CNG fueling station in Pittston Township, Pennsylvania. The fueling station will be constructed by Clean Energy, who will use the $1,172,080 Alternative and Clean Energy (ACE) Program grant along with $1,758,121 in matching funds to complete the project. “The rapid development of natural gas extraction in our state has changed the landscape of viable motor vehicle fuels for our region,” said state Rep. Mike Carroll (D- Luzerne/Monroe). “A partnership such as this will enhance alternatives for our region’s citizens who may be considering a CNG or LNG powered vehicle.” The station will be equipped with both LNG and CNG dispensers with a capacity to dispense 1.3 million DGEs per year. The new station fills a current gap in Pennsylvania’s fueling network. The nearest public access LNG fueling facility is over 133 miles away and the nearest public access CNG station is 49 miles away.
