Littlerock’s First Cng Station Coming In February

The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, is building its first publically accessible CNG station set to open in February of this year. The facility, which is located at a vacant Exxon station, comes at a cost of $1.3 million—$300,000 of which is funded through grants. The City of Little Rock Fleet Services Department, which has been recognized as one of the 100 Best Fleets of North America, has deployed seven CNG pickups and plans to deploy 14 more. Wendell Jones, director of Little Rock’s Fleet Services, said his department is on “a mission to be less dependent on foreign fuels, to have a cleaner environment and reduce fuel costs for the city.” The city will pay $1 to $1.15 per GGE while the public will pay about $1.50 per GGE. The station will be the seventh in Arkansas, the first in Little Rock. Other CNG stations in Arkansas are in North Little Rock, two in Conway, one in Damascus, one in Fort Smith and one in Jonesboro.
