Agility Fuel Solutions Launches Fuel Alternatives Selection Tool (FAST)
Agility Fuel Solutions has launched the Fuel Alternatives Selection Tool (FAST), an app that allows fleet operators to evaluate both the potential emissions impact and the cost savings of various potential clean fuel options.
FAST enables a fleet owner in the United States to analyze medium- or heavy-duty trucks, buses, school buses, delivery vehicles and refuse and other vocational vehicles. Users of the tool can objectively compare fuel options including diesel, gasoline, CNG, LNG and other alternative fuels.
Unlike other fuel and emissions calculator tools, FAST uniquely couples return on investment calculations for various propulsion technologies with greenhouse gas and emissions impacts for each propulsion method. FAST further refines the calculation by allowing the fleet to tailor the inputs for the fleet type, usage pattern and even state of operation.
“Fleets are faced with proliferating propulsion choices and many will likely manage a portfolio of solutions in the future. We saw a need for a tool to assist fleets in making the right choices for their specific needs.” said Kathleen Ligocki, CEO of Agility. “Our goal is to help move fleet operators to cleaner transportation solutions that are scalable and economically sustainable.”
FAST is based on publicly-available data sources including Argonne National Laboratories’ Greenhouse gases, Regulated Emissions, and Energy use in Transportation (GREET) model and was peer reviewed by Gladstein, Neandross & Associates (GNA), North America’s leading consulting firm specializing in market development for low emission and alternative fuel vehicle technologies, infrastructure and fuels for on- and off-road applications.
The tool will be launched initially in a limited release and refined in collaboration with Agility’s customers and partners. Commercial vehicle operators interested in using the tool to analyze their fleets should contact Agility’s sales team at sales@agilityfs.com.
