On Wednesday, Alagasco announced that Ken Smith, the current vice president of system integrity, will become president of Alagasco beginning April 1. Dudley Reynolds, Alagasco’s current President and COO, will retire at the end of March. In his new position, Smith will report to Steve Lindsey, COO of distribution operations for The Laclede Group. “Ken has three decades of experience in our industry,” said Suzanne Sitherwood, president and CEO of The Laclede Group. “He has spent his entire career at Alagasco and he is very well qualified to serve as president.”
Smith earned his engineering degree from Auburn University and then joined Alagasco as an industrial marketing representative. He worked his way up to become manager of technical services, director of engineering services, division manager, and assistant vice president of technical services. For the past 17 years, Smith has been an officer of the company, holding positions such as vice president of operations and vice president of technical and transportation services. Smith’s leadership extends to the national industry, having served in top-level positions with the American Gas Association and the Gas Technology Institute.
