DOE’s Quadrennial Technology Review to Examine RDD&D Opportunities
The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) 2015 Quadrennial Technology Review “will examine the most promising research, development, demonstration, and deployment (RDD&D) opportunities across energy technologies to effectively address the nation’s energy needs” and will identify important technology opportunities involving energy supply and end-use applications. DOE has indicated that efforts and insights learned will support future “funding decisions, approaches to public-private partnerships, and other strategic actions over the next five years.” DOE has scheduled two upcoming webinars to discuss the OTR effort and explain the input process. The first webinar will be held February 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EST and will cover the following subject items: Fuels, Grid, Power, Buildings, Industry & Manufacturing, and Transportation. The second webinar will be held March 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EST and will cover: What Has Changed (from the last QTR), Energy Systems, Enabling Science, Competitiveness, Integrated Analysis, and Accelerating RDD&D. Persons interested in the QTR and attending the webinars can learn more here: http://www.energy.gov/qtr. The deadline for commenting on the QTR is March 9.
