Westport Starts Transit Van Demo Program for Interested Fleets

This week at the APTA EXPO, Westport announced the “Drive Now with CNG” demo program for fleets interested in switching to natural gas. The free demo program will allow fleets to try the Westport WiNG Power System Ford Transit Van to experience the benefits of operating on CNG. “Westport’s new Transit Van demo program will enable companies to see first-hand the benefits of CNG for their business,” said Paul Shaffer, Westport Dallas Vice President. Fleets from across the country will have the chance to put the Transit Van in service for up to three weeks. The Transit Van is offered by Ford with a gaseous prep 3.7L V6 engine at 10,000 GVW and below. It comes in three different van lengths and heights with a 12-passenger seating minimum. EPA and CARB certification are pending.
