Quantum and Mainstay Fuel Solutions to Offer Back-of-Cab CNG Systems

On Wednesday, Quantum Fuel Systems announced that it has entered into a commercial alliance with Mainstay Fuel Technologies to offer Back-of-Cab CNG systems for heavy duty trucks that integrate Quantum’s 21” diameter tanks. The initial Quantum-Mainstay 21” Back- of-Cab system is based on Mainstay’s existing module designs and can incorporate anywhere from one to five of Quantum’s 21″ Q-Lite tanks. Under the alliance, Quantum and Mainstay will each offer the 21″ Back-of-Cab system based on their respective customer needs, and will jointly collaborate on business development activities and new designs for 21” systems. The 21″ Back-of-Cab systems will offer capacities of 28 DGE, 56 DGE, 84 DGE, 112 DGE, and 142 DGE. In addition, with Quantum located on the West Coast and Mainstay on the East Coast, the alliance will provide the companies with additional spare parts distribution and service center locations.
