Possible Senate Action on LNG Fix This Week

The U.S. Senate adjourned on Friday without reaching agreement on when or how to consider H.R. 5021, the House-passed Highway Trust Fund bailout package. Negotiations are continuing as to the number and type of amendments that could be offered in the bill. Now that the Senate has adjourned, the earliest that any agreement can be reached is Monday evening (and the earliest that the bill could possibly come to the floor is Tuesday afternoon). One of the amendments that might be considered is the bipartisan Wyden- Hatch amendment which, among others issues, includes important policy changes such as equalizing the tax treatment of LNG. On Monday, NGVAmerica will be sending a letter to all 100 Senators urging them to support the Wyden/Hatch amendment.
