Central Arkansas Transit Authority to Introduce 15 CNG Buses
• July 21, 2014
The Central Arkansas Transit Authority (CATA) has announced it will introduce 15 new CNG buses to its fleet starting next summer. The 15 natural gas buses, which will replace older in-use diesel buses, will represent about 25 percent of CATA’s bus fleet. The transit authority will continue to replace diesel buses with CNG buses as they retire from service. CATA was able to source $11 million from local, state and federal entities to make the initial purchase.
