D2G DELIVERS FIRST DUAL-FUEL CASCADIA TRACTORS TO FOOD CARRIER
Diesel 2 Gas, Fitzgerald Glider Kits and Agility Fuel Systems have teamed to build the first dual-fuel Freightliner Cascadia Trucks. These trucks are enabled to run on up to 60 percent CNG and 40 percent diesel with the D2G DualFlex+ system and Agility Fuel System CNG tanks. Foodliner, a national bulk foods carrier, will operate the five sleeper cab trucks that will help meet the environmental goals of its customer. D2G says that the Cascadia’s aerodynamic design, together with the fuel efficiency of the Detroit Diesel Series 60 engine, should result in some of the best mileage per gallon for 500 horsepower trucks. Additionally, the 60 percent gas substitution will result in lower fuel costs while maintaining all of the original diesel performance. The D2G DualFlex+ system defaults to 100 percent diesel in the absence of gas, allowing these trucks full diesel fuel redundancy. This full diesel fuel security opens the road to many carriers that may have been reluctant to switch to dedicated natural gas trucks. The five Cascadia’s are also equipped with D2G’s integrated electronic cruise control. For more information, contact Angelique Mathena at angelique@d2ginc.com or 813.251.6070.
