CANADIAN MINING COMPANY TO STUDY EXPANDED USE OF NATURAL GAS
Sage Gold, a Canadian mining and exploration company, has agreed with CNG Canada and Change Energy to study the viability of using natural gas at the Clavos Property in Timmins, Ontario. The study will look at opportunities to supplement or replace diesel fuel with CNG for surface mine equipment and surface haul trucks. CNG may also be used as a fuel in light duty service vehicles. The study will also examine the use of CNG as a replacement for propane for underground mine air heating and as an alternative energy source for electrical power supply. “We are optimistic that the study will indicate substantial cost savings to the proposed mining operation,” said Sage Gold president and CEO Nigel Lees.
