3M AND RUSH ENTERPRISES TO DEVELOP LINE OF CNG TANKS

On Wednesday, 3M and Rush Enterprises announced an agreement to design, manufacture and install CNG tanks and fuel systems for heavy duty Class 6–8 vehicles in North America. The Agreement allows for 3M to supply the tanks, and for Rush Enterprises to provide the fuel systems, distribution and service support. 3M launched its first Type IV CNG tank in 2013 using its nanoparticle-enhanced resin technology to engineer tanks that are up to 30 percent lighter and have up to 10 percent more storage capacity. The new line of CNG tanks will be introduced in late 2014, and a redesigned and lighter weight fuel system will be introduced in spring 2015.
