OKLAHOMA CITY OPENS $2.3 MILLION PUBLIC/PRIVATE STATION
• March 25, 2014
This week, the City of Oklahoma City held a grand opening for its first public CNG fueling station at the city’s solid waste management facility. The publicly accessible side of the station features two dispensers, one for buses and another for cars and trucks, while the private side of the station features 58 time-fill hoses to support the city’s trash trucks. The City currently operates 23 CNG trash trucks with another 12 on order. The
$2.3 million station is an important step for the city as it aims to transition all of its heavy duty vehicles to natural gas by 2017. The city currently pays $3.33 per gallon for diesel, while it is selling CNG for $1.519 per DGE.
